Living in West Yorkshire, Alan is well known amongst the local art community. He has built an excellent reputation for his expertise in the technique of watercolour painting.

Self taught, Alan has exhibited widely including numerous shows for the British Watercolour Society in Ilkley. He is a Member of the British Watercolour Society and a Fellow of the International Guild of Artists.

As a full time artist Alan enjoys painting local scenes including the Yorkshire Dales, Moors and Coast together with the Lake District. In particular, Alan specialises in architectural subjects and their surroundings.

Alan is a Professional Associate of the SAA and he is available to run workshops for art groups and clubs, including outdoor painting and sketching days. He also accepts commissions for special works.
Alan also runs painting holidays. Recent venues have included the Lake District and Yorkshire Coast. See News and Events section for details of next years holidays.
Alan is a regular tutor for The Field Studies Council.
