Born in West Yorkshire, Alan has built up an excellent reputation for his expertise in the technique of watercolour painting.
Self taught, Alan has exhibited widely, including numerous shows for the British Watercolour Society in Ilkley. His work has been published as Fine Art Prints and Greetings Cards.
Alan is a regular tutor at local art clubs including Roberttown Art Group.
Together with fellow artist Richard Gawthorpe, he has recently formed the Northorpe Watercolour Society in Mirfield. This group specializes in the development of more experienced and advanced watercolour artists.
Alan is now available to offer expert tuition to local art clubs in the form of workshops and courses. Topics cover all aspects of watercolour technique including sketching methods, both indoors and outdoors
